“This isn’t about what your child learns. It’s about who they’re becoming.”

REAL TRANSFORMATION

“It was like watching him stand up straighter every week.”

Before:

Liam (9) hid at the school gate and spent over 5 hours a day on his tablet.

Week 2:

His posture changed, shoulders back, walking taller.

Weeks later:

He started answering questions in class and reminded Mum when it was kickboxing night.

“I finally felt I’d made the right choice as a parent.”
— Sarah Murphy, Galway City

If This Sounds Like Your Child…

This programme is for you if your child:

Is shy, nervous, or often described as not sporty.

Spends more time on screens than building confidence with others.

Starts activities with good intentions… then quietly drops out.

Has plenty of energy, but struggles with focus, listening, or structure.

Why This Works (When Other Sports Didn’t)

We exist to give kids calm structure, clear boundaries, and consistent coaching during the years it matters most.

Most parents who come to us have already tried football, GAA, swimming, or dance
and their child either quit, shut down, or became overwhelmed.

Not because they’re lazy or  just need to try harder.

But because most activities expect confidence before it’s built.

Confidence  before performance

Children feel safe first. Progress is structured, visible, and earned  one step at a time.

Calm, consistent coaching

Clear standards, steady guidance, and encouragement that builds trust.

Coaching attention

 Proven Galway legacy

Beginner kids are taught by two coaches, so they’re seen, corrected, and supported  not lost in a crowd.

Building confident kids in Galway since 1996 welcoming atmosphere, serious standards.

SAFETY

Is it safe?       Yes.
Our 7–12 Beginner Program is built around safety from the very start.

No head contact for beginners

Drills matched by size & experience

Sparring is optional, introduced later, always supervised

Coaches are Garda vetted, First Aid certified, and Child Protection certified

Why We Don’t Allow Spectators (Especially at the Start)

To help children focus and build independence,

we don’t allow spectators during class.
This is especially important for shy or anxious kids.

But you’re never left in the dark.

You’re still supported:

  • You can speak with the  instructors  before your child’s first session.

  • You’ll know exactly what happens in class.

  • You’ll receive feedback on how your child settles in.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CLASS (HOW CONFIDENCE IS BUILT)

What your child experiences in every 50-minute beginner class

Tangible Win

They finish the drill without giving up.
They walk back to the line standing a little taller.

Small Challenge

A simple drill matched to the child’s level : never thrown in at the deep end.

Immediate Feedback

Clear guidance, gentle correction, and praise that’s earned.

Alongside the physical training, kids also learn:

  • Respect : Lining up, listening, thanking partners, following instructions.

  • Resilience : Finishing the task even when it feels challenging.

  • Responsibility: Showing up ready, staying focused, working within structure.

That’s why the confidence doesn’t stay in the gym only.parents notice it carrying into school, home, and everyday life.

What Real Progress Looks Like for Kids

Confidence & Discipline
Children who listen, follow structure, and believe in themselves  without being pushed.

I can do hard things” starts to feel normal.

Fitness, Strength & Flexibility
Better coordination, strength, and overall fitness, built gradually and safely.

Resilience & Team Awareness
Learning to work with others, show respect, and keep going when things feel challenging.

Practical Self-Defence Foundations
Awareness, control, and confidence  without fear, aggression, or pressure.

What that builds over time

Why We Keep Beginner Groups Small

We cap beginner groups so no child gets lost in the crowd.
That means once a group fills, we don’t squeeze anyone else in.

Next beginner group starts 31st January
When these places are gone, enrolment closes until the next intake.
